GAF’s Roof Deck Protection Products Explained
GAF is the world’s largest roofing manufacturer and Dynamic Roofing Concepts is proud to be one of its Master Elite® contractors. This means we are able to install high-quality shingle roof systems along with their complementary accessories for lasting performance. One of these is the exclusive GAF roof deck protection. This accessory is designed to provide an additional layer of protection between your roofing shingles and roof deck, which, in turn, increases the life expectancy of your roofing system. GAF Roof Deck Protection is available in an array of options, some of which include:
FeltBuster®
This high-traction synthetic roofing felt underlayment helps prevent rain from penetrating under your shingles and damaging your roof or the inside of your home. It resists tearing and does not absorb moisture. unlike conventional felts that can disintegrate over time, the non-asphaltic, polypropylene construction of FeltBuster makes for long-lasting performance.
Tiger Paw™
This premium underlayment features a moisture-control design that helps remove damaging moisture from your roof deck. It is also stronger than traditional felts with up to 7-times greater tear strength than standard felt, thanks to its synthetic non-woven construction. It is also UV stabilized and boasts excellent walkability after installation, much like a metal roof.
Deck-Armor™
This breathable, UV-stabilized polypropylene underlayment is exceptionally strong and quicker to install than traditional wide felt. It provides up to 50% more coverage per course and is designed to help resist wrinkling and buckling for a more uniform look. As experienced residential roofing experts, we also like this product because it can withstand UV degradation far longer than conventional underlayments.
Shingle-Mate®
This fiberglass reinforced roof deck protection product provides better protection to your roofing system by eliminating the need to slit bubbled felt. It also lies flatter than ordinary felt and is versatile enough to be applied over plywood, wood plank and other approved decks.
VersaShield®
Another fiberglass-reinforced underlayment, specially designed to improve your roofing system’s fire resistance with UL Class A rating. It also provides an extra layer of moisture protection between your roofing material and the roof deck, and lies flatter than typical asphalt felts for a better-looking finished roof.
